TCU Denies Canceling Chloe Cole Campus Talk as Paxton and Roy Announce Inquiries

The Oct. 7 appearance is now set at a Fort Worth church following the university’s explanation of a scheduling conflict with security needs.

Overview

  • Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said he would examine reports that Texas Christian University blocked a Turning Point USA event featuring detransitioner Chloe Cole.
  • Rep. Chip Roy announced an inquiry and, in a new letter, demanded TCU explain its policies, criteria for outside speakers, and the rationale for this case.
  • TCU said the event was never booked, the requested 700–1,000 seat venue was already reserved, and officials offered to explore another date or space after notifying the group on Sept. 25.
  • Cole and TPUSA allies contend TCU denied or constrained access, saying the school offered only a 200-person room with a students-only restriction and made the event "practically impossible."
  • The talk will proceed off campus at Birchman Baptist Church on Oct. 7, as TCU says it has contacted Paxton’s office to share scheduling details and disputes claims of cancellation.
