TCS Wins Five-Year Contract to Modernise NHS Supply Chain IT

The overhaul is intended to support NHS Supply Chain’s goal of unlocking more than £1bn in recurrent value by 2030.

Overview

  • Tata Consultancy Services will provide application development, support and maintenance for core business systems and cloud infrastructure under the deal.
  • The programme will deploy cloud- and AI-enabled solutions, replace legacy software with a modern supply chain ERP, and shift to a product- and platform-based operating model.
  • NHS Supply Chain says the transformation will enhance resilience and user experience, helping it respond faster to changing business and customer needs.
  • TCS highlights recent UK hiring commitments, including 5,000 new local roles, to bolster delivery capacity for projects of this scale.
  • The award extends the growing footprint of India-headquartered IT firms in the UK public sector, following Infosys’s 15-year, £1.2bn NHS HR and payroll contract announced in October.
