TCL and Samsung Unveil New Dolby Atmos Soundbars at CES 2024

TCL introduces Dolby Atmos across its entire range, while Samsung's flagship soundbar gets Roon support and new features.

TCL announces its new soundbars at CES 2024, supporting Dolby Atmos across its entire range for the first time, and introducing up-firing drivers into its wireless surround speakers to create a 7.1.4-channel system.
The 2024 TCL soundbars are divided into two ranges: the entry-level S Class and the performance-oriented Q Class, each with two models offering different features and capabilities.
Samsung's flagship HW-Q990D Dolby Atmos soundbar gets Roon support, a subscription-based music discovery and management platform, and introduces new features like Active Voice Amplifier Pro and Party Play mode.
Samsung also updates its collection of ultra-slim models, including the HW-S800D, a Dolby Atmos soundbar with up-firing speakers and a new feature for 2024: SpaceFit Sound Pro, Samsung’s auto room calibration system.
Despite the advancements in soundbar technology, questions remain about which models support Apple AirPlay, Chromecast built-in, and voice assistant compatibility, as well as multiple HDMI ports.
