Taylor Swift has been named Time's 2023 Person of the Year, joining a list that includes Gandhi, Jimmy Carter, late pope John Paul II, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Barack Obama, teen climate activist Greta Thunberg and 2022 honoree Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.
Elon Musk, who was named Time's Person of the Year in 2021, warned Swift about a potential decline in popularity after receiving the award, stating he speaks from experience.
Swift has not yet responded to Musk's comment.
Musk has faced several controversies since his own recognition, including accusations of anti-semitism, promoting debunked conspiracy theories, and a contentious custody battle with ex-girlfriend Grimes.
Swift's recognition comes amid the first run of her record-shattering Eras Tour and her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
