Overview

  • On August 13 in Los Angeles Superior Court, Andrew and Tristan Tate filed breach-of-contract and fraud suits against Meta and TikTok, alleging their removals caused emotional distress, business interference and misappropriation.
  • Andrew Tate announced on X that he has allocated $400 million of personal funds to battle Big Tech, mainstream media and accusers in a public effort to frame his legal strategy and galvanize supporters.
  • Meta and TikTok have not issued public responses to the filings, which accuse the platforms of a coordinated campaign to suppress the brothers’ speech and damage their reputations.
  • The lawsuits coincide with ongoing criminal probes in Romania and the U.K., where prosecutors authorized multiple charges against the brothers, and a U.K. court order froze £180,000 tied to an Aston Martin deposit in a VAT-evasion and money-laundering investigation.
  • On the same day they sued the platforms, the Tates filed a countersuit against ex-girlfriend iBrianna Sternn, alleging her sexual assault claims were part of a ‘smear campaign’ that cost them sponsorships and deals.
