Tata Power and TATA.ev Open Mumbai’s First Large-Scale Renewable MegaCharger Hub

The airport-adjacent site with 16 fast-charging bays signals a broader push to replicate high-speed, clean charging across major cities.

Overview

  • Launched on World EV Day, the co-branded hub near Terminal 2 at The Leela Mumbai operates 24/7 and serves private users, taxis, ride-hailing fleets and logistics operators.
  • The facility runs entirely on renewable energy and houses eight DC fast chargers up to 120 kW supporting 16 simultaneous charging bays.
  • Access is available through Tata Power’s EZ Charge app, with integration into the iRA.ev connected car app for TATA.ev owners coming soon.
  • TATA.ev customers receive up to a 25% discount and priority access, while the site is open to all EV users.
  • Executives outlined expansion goals including 7.5 lakh home chargers and 10,000 public points by 2030, plus a roadmap to power 95–99% of the network with renewables within five years.
