• Tarantino told the Church of Tarantino podcast that pre-production failed to excite him since he already knew how to recreate 1977 Los Angeles and found the story too reminiscent of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
• He revealed The Movie Critic began in 2022 as an eight-episode television series concept before he reworked it into a feature film script set in 1977.
• The director denied any crossover of Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth character, calling the project a “spiritual sequel” with no shared roles between the two films.
