Overview

  • The CAS upheld the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s appeal, overturning a December 2023 tribunal decision that had cleared Moore on a contaminated-meat defense.
  • The arbitration panel ruled that Moore failed to demonstrate that the nandrolone concentration in her sample was consistent with unintentional ingestion.
  • Her four-year ban takes effect from July 15, 2025, with 19 months of provisional suspension already counted toward the penalty.
  • Moore has consistently denied knowingly taking banned substances and had sought to dismiss the ITIA appeal through a cross-appeal at CAS.
  • Only a rare procedural appeal in Swiss courts remains as Moore’s final avenue to challenge the ruling.
