• Abdul Ibrahim Salih, a 22-year-old Tanzanian trainee at the Indian Naval Academy, disappeared on June 1 after failing to resurface during a second jump near the Venduruthy Bridge.
• Kochi City Police, the Southern Naval Command and specialised naval diving teams launched intensive search operations immediately, now continuing into Monday.
• Strong currents and low visibility in the Ernakulam channel have significantly hampered rescue efforts.
• Salih had been in Kochi on leave after completing his passing out parade at Ezhimala under a bilateral defence cooperation programme.
