A tanker truck driver died after losing control of the vehicle on State Route 8 in Macedonia, Ohio, causing the truck to veer off a bridge and explode.
The explosion resulted in a large fire and the spillage of diesel fuel into a nearby creek, briefly setting it alight.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is on site to manage the fuel spill, which involved approximately 7,500 gallons of fuel.
Route 8 was temporarily closed for safety inspections and investigations, but has since reopened.
The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
