Overview

• West Midlands Police named the 24-year-old victim as Georgina Ward and said the suspect is 39-year-old Daniel Birtwistle of Tamworth.
• Birtwistle is due to appear at Dudley Magistrates' Court today in connection with manslaughter, coercive control and assault charges.
• The case includes two counts of controlling and coercive behaviour and three counts of assault relating to Ms Ward.
• Police say six further assaults and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour concern three other women from the same period.
• Charges outline alleged assaults between May and late November 2020 and controlling behaviour from August 2019 to September 2020 and during November 2020, and Ms Ward’s family released a tribute.
