• Sternberg has agreed in principle to sell the Rays to a consortium led by Jacksonville developer Patrick Zalupski.
• The transaction is expected to finalize by September 2025 after securing approval from Major League Baseball owners.
• Zalupski, founder of Dream Finders Homes, will be joined by Bill Cosgrove and Ken Babby in the new ownership team and intends to keep the franchise in Tampa Bay.
• The Rays have been playing home games at George M. Steinbrenner Field due to Hurricane Milton’s damage to Tropicana Field’s roof in October 2024.
• Commissioner Rob Manfred began pressing Sternberg in March to resolve the stadium impasse or sell the franchise.
