Tamir Adar, Previously Believed to be a Hamas Hostage, Killed in October 7 Attack

Adar, a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz's emergency response squad, died defending his community, with his body taken by retreating terrorists.

Tamir Adar, a 38-year-old Israeli man previously thought to be a hostage, was killed defending his kibbutz during the Hamas massacre on October 7.
Adar was a member of Kibbutz Nir Oz's emergency response squad and was killed in the attack while his wife and two daughters survived.
Adar's body was taken by the terrorists as they retreated to Gaza.
Adar's 85-year-old grandmother, Yaffa Adar, was among the hostages taken by Hamas that day and was released under a week-long ceasefire brokered in November.
Israeli officials believe there are 132 hostages remaining in Hamas captivity, 25 of which the Israel Defense Forces considers dead based off of Israeli intelligence and reports from soldiers on the ground.
