Tamil Nadu Unveils SimpleGov Portal to Streamline Government Services

The first phase brings ten services under one digital platform, reflecting CM Stalin’s push for transparent governance.

Overview

  • SimpleGov launches ten services from eight departments to centralize applications for certificates, licences and registrations in Tamil Nadu
  • Initial offerings include sanitation certificates, public buildings licences, solvency certificates and registrations for old age homes, women’s shelters and working women’s hostels
  • The portal also handles no-objection certificates for non-agricultural land use and passport clearance for government employees
  • CM Stalin inaugurated over ₹600 crore in infrastructure projects—covering highway upgrades, a rail overbridge, tribal housing and water works—and launched the Uzhavarai Thedi scheme for farmers in 17,000 villages
  • The administration cleared ₹97 crore in pending sugarcane dues for 5,900 farmers and intends to add more services to SimpleGov to boost transparency
