Overview
- The state released a consolidated list for 2021–2023 through the Tamil Nadu Iyal Isai Nataka Mandram, recognising contributors in cinema, music, dance, literature and theatre.
- Kalaimamani honourees include SJ Suryah, Sai Pallavi, N. Lingusamy and Super Subbarayan (2021); Vikram Prabhu, Jaya V. C. Guhanathan, lyricist Viveka, PRO Diamond Babu and photographer T. Lakshmikanthan (2022); and K. Manikandan, George Maryan, Anirudh Ravichander, singer Shwetha Mohan, choreographer Sandy and PRO Nikkil Murukan (2023).
- Playback legend K. J. Yesudas will receive the M. S. Subbulakshmi Award, with N. Murugesa Pandian named for the Bharathiyar Award and Padma Shri Muthukannammal for the Balasaraswathi Award.
- The presentation will be held at Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai in October, with Kalaimamani recipients set to receive a three-sovereign gold medal and certificate, and national-level awardees to get a gold medal and Rs 1 lakh.
- Tamil Isai Sangam (Raja Annamalai Mandram) and the M. R. Muthusamy Memorial Drama Troupe were recognised as top cultural association and theatre group, respectively, while most outlets reported the official lists even as one report carried differing names.
