  • On July 22, Ariyalur, Kanyakumari and Chengalpattu administrations declared local holidays on July 23, 24 and 28.
  • Ariyalur will mark July 23 for Rajendra Chola I’s birth anniversary commemorating the medieval emperor’s expansion of the Chola empire.
  • Kanyakumari schools will close on July 24 for Aadi Amavasai ancestor rituals and Chengalpattu on July 28 for the Aadipooram festival honouring Goddess Andal.
  • All districts will recover lost days with a full working Saturday on July 26 for schools and government offices.
  • Chengalpattu will hold an additional make-up session on Saturday, August 9 to maintain instructional continuity.
