  • Police used drones to locate a Mahindra Thar about 400–500 feet down a Tamhini Ghat gorge and recovered all six occupants after a multi-agency search through Thursday evening.
  • The friends left Pune late on November 17 for a Konkan trip; missing-person reports on November 19 led investigators to a sharp curve with a broken railing where the SUV apparently veered off.
  • On-site post-mortems were conducted because the bodies had begun decomposing, and officials said inquiries are assessing overspeeding, mechanical issues, visibility and road conditions.
  • In a separate Ambernath flyover collision, four people died, including the driver of a campaign car; police registered a case, are reviewing CCTV, and have not confirmed claims of a driver heart attack.
  • On the JNPT–Panvel road, two youths died and four were injured when a speeding SUV hit a container; Panvel City Police booked the driver for rash and negligent driving.
