Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker Introduces The Orchid, a Chord-Generating Synthesizer

The Orchid, developed over a decade and launching December 18, offers innovative tools for musicians of all skill levels.

The Orchid is a chord-generating hardware synthesizer created by Kevin Parker and his company, Telepathic Instruments.
Key features include a one-octave keyboard, chord-modifying keys, a 16-voice polyphonic synth engine, onboard effects like reverb and delay, and a rechargeable battery.
The instrument also includes unique performance modes such as Strum, Slop, Arpeggiator, Pattern, and Harp to enhance creativity.
Designed for portability, The Orchid features built-in stereo speakers and functions as a standalone device, with optional MIDI output for integration with production setups.
The first limited run of 1,000 units will be available for $549 starting December 18, with users encouraged to provide feedback for future refinements.
