Tamagotchi Ring Debuts as 28mm Wearable Accessory

Bandai is selling the tiny collectible as a nostalgia-driven fashion piece that will ship first in Japan with preorders open and deliveries planned for early 2027.

Overview

  • Bandai unveiled the Tamagotchi Ring on Saturday and opened preorders in Japan with first deliveries scheduled for February 2027 and a second batch set for April.
  • The ring is 28 millimeters tall and uses a 0.56-inch color LCD, a rechargeable battery housed in a small charging case, side-mounted physical controls, and decorative front buttons.
  • Bandai says the device packs 52 electronic components and 12 plastic parts after roughly two years of development to preserve the original Tamagotchi mechanics in a much smaller form.
  • The Ring includes more than 30 characters with unlockable secret creatures based on player care, and it is priced at ¥7,700 (about $48–52) for the Japan release.
  • Bandai frames the launch around Tamagotchi’s 30th anniversary as a collectible accessory aimed at nostalgia rather than a feature-rich smartwatch and has not confirmed wider international availability while some specialist import sellers have already sold out.
