Jerry Springer was laid to rest in a private Jewish ceremony attended by a small group of people in a suburb of Chicago.
A public tribute to Springer is scheduled to take place on May 16 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Springer died at his home in suburban Chicago at the age of 79 due to pancreatic cancer.
He was best known for hosting the tabloid talk show Jerry Springer for over 25 years.
Springer is survived by his daughter, Katie, and his sister, Evelyn.
