Overview
- A fire that broke out in a residential building in Juhu on October 2 damaged Talat Aziz’s Mumbai home and destroyed many personal items.
- Aziz posted photographs and videos on Instagram this week showing the interior damage and describing the loss of sentimental artefacts and memories.
- He said his family escaped the blaze and thanked supporters and Allah for their safety while stressing that some losses cannot be replaced by money.
- Local reports say Aziz and four others suffered suffocation and were treated at a hospital after the October 2 incident before being discharged.
- Aziz is a veteran ghazal singer trained in the Kirana Gharana and associated with figures like Mehdi Hassan and Jagjit Singh, and the post has drawn public sympathy as the family begins the rebuilding process.
