Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, has filed a trademark dispute against Remedy Entertainment over its new logo, claiming it is too similar to Rockstar's own logo.
The dispute, which was filed in the United Kingdom, is based on the argument that there is a 'likelihood of confusion on the part of the public' due to the similarities between the two logos, both of which feature a stylized 'R'.
Remedy Entertainment, known for developing the Alan Wake and Max Payne franchises, unveiled its new logo in April 2023.
Interestingly, Remedy and Rockstar are currently collaborating on remakes of the first two Max Payne games, a project that is still in development.
Take-Two has a history of aggressively protecting its trademarks, having previously filed disputes against other companies in the gaming industry, including Hazelight Studios over the title of its game 'It Takes Two' in 2021.
