Taj Mahal Targeted by Hoax Bomb Threat, Prompting Security Sweep

Authorities conducted an extensive search of the monument after receiving an email threat, which was later deemed baseless.

An email threatening to blow up the Taj Mahal was sent to the Uttar Pradesh Tourism department on Tuesday, triggering an immediate security response.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), bomb disposal units, dog squads, and other security teams were deployed to investigate the threat.
A thorough search of the Taj Mahal premises found no suspicious items, and the site remained open to visitors throughout the operation to avoid panic.
Authorities confirmed the threat was a hoax, and investigations are ongoing to identify the sender of the email.
This is not the first hoax bomb threat targeting the Taj Mahal, with similar incidents reported in 2021 and 2017.
