Overview

  • Officials installed the system on May 30 and carried out a mock drill within the closed complex to test its readiness.
  • Equipped with radio frequency and GPS jamming, the system can detect drones within an eight-kilometre radius but currently neutralises threats inside a 500-metre perimeter.
  • A rapid response team is in place to retrieve downed drones and trace operators for legal action.
  • The Central Industrial Security Force and Uttar Pradesh Police now augment their protection of the UNESCO site with this technological layer.
  • Uttar Pradesh Police previously deployed similar anti-drone setups at the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and the Ram Lalla idol consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.
