Tahiti School Bus Driver Charged with Sexual Assault of 35 Children

The 64-year-old driver, who admitted to inappropriate actions but denies sexual intent, faces trial on March 24.

The accused driver, employed for 18 months on a school bus route in Tahiti, is charged with sexually assaulting 35 children aged 3 to 11.
Children reported that the driver regularly touched their buttocks and sometimes their genitals over their clothing while boarding or exiting the bus.
The allegations, first brought to light in December, were corroborated by video surveillance footage and testimonies from the children.
The driver admitted to the actions but claimed they were disciplinary measures for misbehaving children, denying any sexual intent.
He has been placed under strict judicial supervision, barred from contact with minors, and is awaiting a psychiatric evaluation ahead of his March 24 trial.
