  • Germany’s nationwide heritage open day takes place on Sunday, 14 September, under the coordination of the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz with listings on tag-des-offenen-denkmals.de.
  • Organizers and local reports cite participation on a large scale, with up to 7,000 monuments in roughly 2,000 municipalities, including 315 sites in Hessen and 85 Angebote im Landkreis Görlitz.
  • Ludwigshafen will host the official opening at 11:00 at the main entrance to Ebertpark by building and environment commissioner Alexander Thewalt, followed by guided walks through the historic park and multiple site programs across the city.
  • Wuppertal will open a former Schaeffler (FAG-Kugelfischer) production hall and its original WWII air-raid cellar, offering hourly tours from 11:00 to 17:00 with capacity limits and basic safety requirements.
  • Programming showcases both traditional and digital interpretation, including a Rhineland-Palatinate brochure spotlighting interior values, the KuLaDig digital project in Mutterstadt, VR and app tours at Mülheim’s Schloss Broich, and diverse sites from churches and castles to bunkers, factories and rail heritage.
