As the beta ends, T-Mobile forces some new T-Satillite subscribers to make a call or visit a store

Overview

  • T-Satellite is now commercially available on 650+ Starlink satellites, extending text and location connectivity to more than 500,000 square miles beyond traditional network reach.
  • Experience Beyond and Go5G Next customers receive the service free, while other T-Mobile and non-T-Mobile subscribers can enroll for $10 a month for a limited period before rising to $15.
  • Following its exit from beta, non-T-Mobile customers must activate T-Satellite by calling or visiting a T-Mobile store.
  • More than 60 smartphones are compatible with T-Satellite, including all iPhone 13 and newer models and major Android handsets, with MMS and location sharing live and picture, voice, and data features slated soon.
  • A Starlink software failure on July 24 caused a multi-hour outage even as T-Satellite’s beta phase demonstrated lifesaving potential by relaying over 250,000 emergency messages during the Texas floods.
