T-Mobile Enables MMS Messaging on Starlink-Powered T-Satellite for Samsung and Motorola Phones

Customers with compatible handsets can now share images, GIFs and short videos off-grid with delivery delays of up to 20 minutes.

Overview

  • The MMS feature began rolling out July 29–30 for select Samsung and Motorola models after the service’s SMS launch on July 23.
  • Devices automatically switch to T-Satellite in cellular dead zones without manual setup or sky-pointing.
  • Multimedia messages can include images, GIFs, audio clips and short video but may face delays of up to two minutes for photos and 10–20 minutes for video.
  • Customers on T-Mobile’s Experience Beyond and Go5G Next plans receive MMS support at no extra cost while other subscribers pay a monthly fee.
  • T-Mobile will add satellite data services on October 1 and is set to introduce voice support in a future update.
