Overview

  • At a Damascus briefing, Judge Hatem Naasan said security and army members seen in social-media videos committing violations were arrested and referred to judicial authorities.
  • He did not reveal how many were detained and said security officers are held by the Interior Ministry while military personnel are held by the Defence Ministry.
  • The committee withheld a death toll until its final report and said some foreign fighters entered Suwayda individually but were not part of Syrian forces.
  • Local networks and residents dispute the committee’s credibility and cite far higher casualty counts, as a UN inquiry gains some access to the province.
  • A Druze delegation arrived in Amman for talks with Syrian interim government and US representatives, and Jordan rejected an Israeli proposal for a special checkpoint into Suwayda.
