Syracuse Vice Principal Arrested After Police Find 15-Year-Old and Alcohol in Truck

Police are seeking tips as the investigation remains active.

  • Perez-Garcia, a vice principal at H. W. Smith Elementary School, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful dealing with a child.
  • The teen told detectives they exchanged calls and texts but reported no physical relationship.
  • The Syracuse City School District placed Perez-Garcia on administrative leave, and investigators asked anyone with information or other potential victims to contact SPD at 315-442-5222 or the McMahon Ryan Child Advocacy Center at 315-701-2985.
