The scene required a more complex approach than usual, involving a pump, a pipe hidden on Sweeney's body, and a horse bit in her mouth to create a realistic vomiting effect.
Typically, fake vomit for TV shows is made of a mixed-up paste of whatever is lying around that the craft team has access to, combined with milk and water.
However, 'Euphoria' creator Sam Levinson wanted a more dramatic effect, leading to the use of the pump and pipe, which were later edited out using CGI.
Sweeney described the experience as 'the most disgusting thing I've ever experienced.'
