Sydney Sweeney Leads Christy Martin Biopic with Star-Studded Cast Additions

Ben Foster, Merritt Wever, and more join the untitled film directed by David Michôd as production kicks off in North Carolina.

The film tells the true story of Christy Martin, America's most successful female boxer in the 1990s.
New cast members include Emmy nominee Ben Foster, Emmy winner Merritt Wever, and breakout star Katy O’Brian.
Christy Martin, known for her resilience and charisma, was the first female boxer to appear on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
The film will explore Martin's rise to fame, her toxic relationship with her husband and manager Jim Martin, and his subsequent imprisonment for attempted murder.
Produced by Black Bear, Anonymous Content, and Fifty-Fifty Films, the movie is the second collaboration between Sydney Sweeney and Black Bear.
