Sydney Police Target Gangland Activity After Shots Fired in High-Speed Pursuit

A botched home invasion linked to organized crime escalated into a dangerous chase, with suspects firing at officers and one still at large.

Police responded to an attempted home invasion in Edensor Park, believed to be linked to organized crime, around 1:30am on Tuesday.
Two armed men fled the scene in a Hyundai sedan, sparking a high-speed chase through south-west Sydney.
During the pursuit, the passenger fired multiple shots at a police vehicle, striking it twice but causing no injuries to the officer or police dog inside.
The vehicle was disabled using road spikes, leading to the arrest of the 20-year-old driver, while the passenger escaped on foot and remains at large.
Police recovered three firearms, including an assault rifle, from the car and are continuing their investigation into the gang-related incident.
