  • Police negotiators spent three hours trying to de-escalate after the man armed himself with a knife and threatened self-harm.
  • Just before 3:30 pm, officers entered the cabin after he allegedly rushed at them, deploying a Taser and less-lethal rounds before firing live ammunition.
  • Paramedics treated the man on site and transported him to Liverpool Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
  • The NSW Crime Command’s Homicide squad is leading the investigation, which is under review by the Professional Standards Command and overseen by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission.
