Ufuk Talay, former assistant coach and player for Sydney FC, has been appointed as Sydney FC's new head coach, replacing Steve Corica, who was fired due to the team's poor start in the ongoing A-League season.
Talay, previously a manager at Wellington Phoenix, is well-regarded for his player management skills and his focus on positive, attacking style of football.
He successfully guided Wellington Phoenix to their first top-three finish in the A-League in his debut season and maintained his reputation for encouraging attacking football over three further seasons.
Talay has been signed on a two-year deal and his first assignment as head coach will be the upcoming match against league leaders, Adelaide United.
