Sydney Businessman Charged with Attempted Murder in Poisoning Case

Stephan Wagner, 61, has been arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including attempted murder, for allegedly poisoning his wife's tea with Ant-Rid insecticide.
The alleged poisoning occurred over a period from January 2022 to September 2024, resulting in his wife, Glenda Wagner, 66, becoming seriously ill.
The couple's adult children reportedly raised the alarm, suspecting their father was poisoning their mother, which led to police involvement.
Police seized a bottle of insecticide from the couple's home in St Andrews, Sydney, which is undergoing forensic examination.
Wagner has been denied bail and will remain in custody until his next court appearance in December, with an apprehended violence order in place for his wife's protection.
