Switzerland's performance under Grings included exiting the Women's World Cup in the round of 16 and losing their last four matches.
Among the losses were three recent games against Women's World Cup champion Spain, with a combined score of 17-2.
Switzerland, which will host the women’s Euro 2025 tournament, won only one of 14 games this year.
The Swiss Football Association has not yet named a successor for Grings.
