Suzuki to Manufacture First EV for Toyota at New Gujarat Plant

Maruti Suzuki's eVX, developed with Toyota and Daihatsu, marks a shift towards electric vehicles with production starting in 2025.

The Maruti Suzuki eVX, the company's first all-electric vehicle, will begin production at a new facility in Gujarat, India, in spring 2025.
Suzuki and Toyota are expanding their partnership to include electric vehicles, a first for their collaboration which previously focused on combustion and hybrid models.
The eVX will feature a 60-kilowatt-hour battery with a range of up to 500 kilometers, and will be produced exclusively at the Gujarat plant.
Maruti Suzuki plans to manufacture 250,000 units annually at the Gujarat facility, aiming to supply the EV globally, including to Japan and Europe.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by Toyota to introduce 10 battery-powered vehicles by 2026, reinforcing India's role as an EV production hub for Suzuki.
