Sutton Foster to Lead 'Once Upon a Mattress' Revival on Broadway

The musical, directed by Lear deBessonet and adapted by Amy Sherman-Palladino, will run for 18 weeks before moving to Los Angeles.

The Broadway revival begins previews on July 31 at the Hudson Theatre, with an official opening on August 12.
Foster previously played the role of Princess Winnifred in a New York City Center Encores! production earlier this year.
The show, based on 'The Princess and the Pea,' originally debuted on Broadway in 1959 with Carol Burnett in the lead role.
After the Broadway run ends on November 30, the production will have a four-week engagement in Los Angeles starting December 10.
Additional casting for the Broadway production has not yet been announced.
