• Sussex Police detained three Mid Sussex men aged 19, 21 and 23 on suspicion of wounding with intent following Monday’s attack.
• The victim was struck by a blue car at about 5.40pm on July 28 before two men emerged and assaulted him on Sydney Road in Haywards Heath.
• The 16-year-old remains hospitalised with potentially life-changing injuries but is now in stable condition.
