Suspects in Kidnapping of Liverpool Player's Parents Sentenced to Prison

- Brito is accused of assisting in the logistics of the kidnapping, including planning the deception under which Díaz's parents were abducted at a gas station.
- Díaz's mother, Cilenis Marulanda, was rescued by police a few hours after the abduction, but his father was held captive for 12 days by the National Liberation Army (ELN).
- The ELN, which was involved in peace negotiations with the Colombian government at the time of the kidnapping, has acknowledged the kidnapping and called it a mistake.
