Overview

• A resident arrived at Iwamizawa Police Station around 11:00 with an object described as about 12 cm by 3.5 cm that resembled an artillery shell.
• Police evacuated people inside the station, suspended reception and counter services, and advised evacuation for buildings within a 50-meter radius.
• Japan Ground Self-Defense Force personnel from the Makomanai garrison recovered the device at 14:50, and the evacuation advisory was lifted at 14:56.
