Suspected Drunken Driver Charged After Precinct 4 Deputies Struck on Sam Houston Tollway

  • A constable’s corporal was life-flighted to Memorial Hermann Hospital and is out of surgery in stable condition, while a female deputy was treated and released Thursday afternoon.
  • The man initially reported on the tollway was in a patrol vehicle during the collision, was injured, and was taken to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, while another person was treated at the scene and released.
  • Eastbound lanes were closed for more than four and a half hours before reopening as the investigation continues.
