Overview

• The collision occurred around 7:40 p.m. on Oct. 6 on East Hackley Avenue near Reynolds Street in Muskegon Heights.
• The 48-year-old victim was transported to Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital, where she later died.
• The driver left the scene, and officers followed a trail of vehicle fluid for a significant distance during the search.
• Investigators reviewed surveillance video, located the suspected vehicle, interviewed the driver, and booked the suspect into Muskegon County Jail with charges pending.
• Police have not released the victim’s name and ask anyone with information to contact the Muskegon Heights Police Department or Silent Observer.
