• Maleesa Mooney, a 31-year-old model and real estate agent, was found dead in her refrigerator in downtown L.A., bound and gagged, after allowing suspect Magnus Daniel Humphrey to stay in her apartment.
• Humphrey, 41, with a criminal history across multiple states, pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and torture and is held without bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 7.
• Mooney was last seen alive on Sept. 6, and her body was discovered on Sept. 12 following a welfare check requested by her family. She was two months pregnant at the time of her death.
