Overview

• Officers responded at about 5:15 p.m. to a burglary-in-progress on the 3800 block of Louise Court after a homeowner reported an armed intruder.
• Police saw the suspect inside the residence, and he barricaded himself as the Grove City Strategic Response Team deployed.
• At approximately 8:37 p.m. the suspect fled the home, prompting a roughly one-block foot chase during which police say he fired at officers.
• Officers returned fire, the suspect was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead, and a Grove City officer was hospitalized in stable condition.
• Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity, and investigators asked residents to share any relevant surveillance video.
