Suspect in Triple Homicide Fatally Shot by Police in Berwyn

The 24-year-old man, linked to three killings in Mahomet, Illinois, was killed after firing at officers during a late-night confrontation.

John Lyons, 24, was identified as the suspect in a triple homicide that occurred Wednesday evening in Mahomet, Illinois.
The victims included Sara Mason, 26, who died at the scene, and Janis Mason, 61, and Caleb Mason, 23, who succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
Lyons fled to Berwyn, where police responded to reports of a man with a gun late Wednesday night.
After forcing his way into a home and shooting two dogs, Lyons fired at officers, who returned fire and killed him.
The Illinois State Police Public Integrity Task Force is now investigating both the triple homicide and the officer-involved shooting.
