Suspect in Massachusetts Murder Arrested in Kenya, Awaiting Extradition

Kevin Kangethe, accused of killing his girlfriend Margaret Mbitu and leaving her body at Logan Airport, was apprehended following an international manhunt.

Kevin Kangethe, the prime suspect in the murder of his girlfriend Margaret Mbitu, was arrested in Kenya and is awaiting extradition to the US.
Mbitu's body was found in a parked car at Logan Airport in November 2023, two days after she was reported missing.
Kangethe allegedly fled to Kenya immediately after the incident. Surveillance footage showed him leaving the parking garage and boarding a flight.
Mbitu's family expressed relief at the arrest, stating they are confident that justice for Mbitu will be achieved.
The arrest was the result of international collaboration between the Massachusetts State Police, the State Department's Diplomatic Security Service, Interpol, and Kenyan authorities.
