Suspect in Delphi Murders Allegedly Confessed to Wife Over Phone While Incarcerated

Richard Allen told his wife during a recorded jail call that he killed Abigail Williams and Liberty German in Indiana in 2017.
Investigators believe the girls were killed using a sharp object, and their wounds were described as “signatures.”
Although Allen pleaded not guilty, unsealed court documents reveal details about the evidence against him, including a gun, knives, and witness testimony.
Allen's defense team argues that his statements were unreliable due to mental health issues developed in prison and that he has faced abuse and threats from other inmates.
The case went unsolved for over five years until advancements in technology allowed investigators to identify Allen as a suspect based on old witness interviews and DNA.
