Overview

• The pursuit began around 4 p.m. in west Harris County when a constable attempted to stop a box truck, according to law enforcement.
• HPD said license plate readers flagged repeated toll violations and the driver was found to have outstanding felony warrants before he fled.
• After reaching a dead end on Trail Hollow Drive, the driver reversed into patrol vehicles and a deputy opened fire, with no one struck by the gunfire.
• The suspect ran through the complex, was located inside a residence, and taken into custody; HPD K9 units were deployed during the search.
• The driver and three deputies were hospitalized with minor injuries, and separate investigations are underway by HPD and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
